Fujiko took a deep breath in, her eyes closed and she centered herself. She opened her eyes, focusing on the target ahead of her, her brow furrowed in concentration, her grip on the handle of the kunai was slightly damp with sweat. 'Alright, Fu, you can do this. Just focus on the target, aim for the center. You probably won't make it right away because you're a bit nervous, but that's okay you get a few tries...' she thought to herself. She had already passed the shuriken part of the class, and while they were tricky she had gone out of her way to train with them at home and she was pretty adept at using them, with minimal scratches and cuts even! Mai had approved of her skills and decided to give her some kunai to practice with since Fujiko hadn't really practiced with them.

The first thing she noticed about these kunai was the weight. The were obviously bigger and so weighed more than the small shuriken they had been using, and that was a bit of a problem. Not a major problem, after all she loved weapons, especially bladed ones, so she would just have to get over it. She tested the weight again and the proper calibrations. She was also slightly picking on herself for taking so long, before eyeing the target again and letting it fly.

The kunai made a direct path, although veering slightly to the left of her original target but still in the second ring of the target. It hit the target with a soft thunk...and then clattered down to the ground. Fujiko scrunched her face up in disappointment, 'So close but not enough power behind it! GRAWR!' she thought walking up to the target and retrieving her kunai. 'This time I need to put more power behind it so that it can stick...'

Fujiko readied herself again, sweating slightly in the heat and poised her aim before flinging the kunai at the target. This time it flew but the trajectory was waaaay off, landing in a tree branch five feet away, but it did stick the landing. "Shoot!" she said and looked around for a way to climb the tree.

Once that was settled she quickly climbed the tree and struggled to get the kunai out of the tree. 'Darn, let's just wiggle it then' she thought and began wiggling the kunai while balancing on the thick branch solidly. She was so concentrated on her task at hand that she nearly fell out of the tree when she heard screaming and winced slightly. "That was a close one!" she said and noticed that the final combo of wince and tug had allowed her to free her kunai. "Alright! Finally!" she said and climbed down before going for her last throw.

"Not so much power now, Fu, and aim better." she said under her breath and eyed the target. She centered herself again and readied her aim, this time purposefully ignoring the random squeals of laughter and shouting that was occurring and let the kunai lose.

She watched in fascination as the kunai sailed through the air and hit the target dead on and STUCK!

"YATTA!! I DID IT!!" She shouted and let out a loud whoop of victory. She wiped the sweat from her hands and looked behind her to see Mai nodding and smiling in approval. "Good job, Fujiko-chan" she said and Fu smiled brightly.
